“On the Rocks’ has no release date as of now. It was rumored to premiere at this September’s Venice Film Festival, but, of course, we don’t really know if that festival will even happen given the current lockdown and social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic Apple has expressed interest in giving this film a theatrical release, but with the virus raging on, maybe Coppola will be open to having her film premiere directly on the AppleTV+ streaming platform, especially if Oscar eligibility rules are changed and streamed films are allowed to compete for next year’s ceremony. “It’s kind of the clash of how they look at relationships and also how your relationship with your parent affects your relationships in your life. We finished a little while ago. It’s the two of them as a father and daughter sort of on a little adventure to spy on her husband.
